Five Ways to Maximize Nutrition While On the Go

Balancing great nutrition with a busy life isn't always easy. If you regularly find yourself without access to a kitchen, you'll have to think outside the box to make sure you're meeting your goals. Here are some of our favorite ways to make sure your body gets the nutrition it needs no matter where your day takes you.

  1. Greens Powder Energy Balls: Energy balls are the perfect bite-sized antidote to a busy day. They're easy to pop into your mouth and sturdy enough to ride along in a purse or backpack. Add greens powder to the mix and they'll even help you meet your digestive health goals. There are lots of different energy bite recipes out there, but we like these two for their balance of flavor and nutrition:
  1. Beet Root Capsules: There's a clear link between beetroot and athletic performance, but that doesn't mean you want to bring a container of roasted beets to the gym. Grab a few beet root capsules instead. They're small, travel easily, and go down quickly, leaving you unencumbered and ready to go hard.

  1. Super Greens Packets: Feeling extra-cramped for time? Super greens packets to the rescue. Getting your greens powder in single serving packets means you won't have to spend the time (or risk the mess of) measuring. Instead, just rip open the packet, tip it into a bottle of water, give it a good shake, and you're good to go. A hefty serving of gut-supporting prebiotics, probiotics, and enzymes, all made up in less than fifteen seconds.

  1. Greens Powder Gummies: Greens powder gummies are a fun and easy way to support your gut health on the go. While you can find them pre-made, they're easy to make at home and require only a few ingredients.

Here's what we like to do: Mix a scoop of greens powder with a cup of water, then add 3 tablespoons of gelatin powder OR two teaspoons of agar powder. Add in a teaspoon of honey if you like your gummies a little sweeter, then pour into a saucepan. Heat over medium high heat until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for one minute, then remove from heat. Pour into molds of your choice and allow to set completely in the refrigerator. Once set, remove from the molds and enjoy.

  1. Beet Root Granola Bars: Granola bars are a great example of a nutritious "grab and go" snack. Not only are they easy to transport, if you make them yourself you have endless opportunities to customize for your tastes and goals.
