How to Get the Most Out of Your Workout

With resolution season in full effect, gyms are crowded with people who have made a commitment to a healthier lifestyle. While actually going to the gym is often more than half the battle, there are still several things to consider when it comes to fitness. Whether you are a power lifter or a cardio queen, these tips for before and after your workout will give you the competitive edge and maximize the benefits you get from exercise.

Sleep on it- Many of us lead busy lives with demanding schedules that often lead us to putting our sleep requirements on the back burner. While we can usually make it through the next day despite being groggy, when we deprive our bodies of sleep, we are making it harder for our bodies to recover. This is especially true after working out.

According to studies, exercise and sleep have an extremely beneficial symbiotic relationship. Exercising makes it easier to go to sleep and stay asleep. While you are sleeping, your body produces hormones that heal and build new muscle.

Use the buddy system- Some people feel reserved about working out with other people, especially if they are just starting out. However, working out with another person is likely going to lead to better results. Having a workout partner makes it harder to skip the workout with a friend keeping you accountable.

It has also been shown that when people exercise with others, they are likely to exercise for a longer period of time. Many people reap the benefits of a little friendly competition as well.

Drink up- We should all be aware of the importance of staying hydrated, but what people do not often know is just how big of an impact that it can have. If you are not sufficiently hydrated, you will quickly lose strength and endurance, making your workout feel extra difficult without providing as good of results.

A good routine to get into is to drink 16oz of water about an hour before your workout. During your workout take eater breaks about every 10-20 minutes, depending on the intensity of the workout. Afterwards, drink another 16oz.

This sounds like a lot, but it is what your body requires to perform and recover to its best ability. A great way to add some amazing bonus benefits and flavor to your hydration is to add Nature Plus You’s Super Greens Powder to your water.

Use premium fuel- If you are trying to turn your body into a lean, mean, calorie burning machine, you need to pay extra close attention to what you are putting into your body. Eating whole foods in moderate portions is the best way to make sure that your body recovers from one workout and prepares for the next. Getting in the proper nutrients can lead to faster results.

Using the right supplements can also make a huge difference in how you feel during and after a workout. There are many supplements that cut corners and use subpar ingredients to make more money. Nature Plus You uses organic greens and natural sweeteners.
